Founded in 1517 the 77th Livery Company of the City of London

Worshipful Company of Carmen

Tomorrow's People

From apprentice to graduate, Carmen help young people learn about life.

The Company welcomes young people aged 14 to 21 with trade, family or fellowship links as apprentices. In common with other Livery companies, they bind young people apprentice to experienced masters of transport, to learn the mystery of Carmen.

Through their mentors, apprentices learn about the Company, the City civic, the industry, and above all, about the fellowship which informs and facilitates all that Carmen do.

With a light touch, avoiding interference with school, college or the workplace, the Company offers apprentices an insight into the adult world – with events, an opportunity to serve, and the chance to become part of a fraternity of like-minded people, in business and professions.

The Carman apprentice learns through the gentle servitude of a traditional bond, within a fellowship of friends.
