Cart Marking
Guildhall Yard

This year the Carmen were celebrating their 500th anniversary and the annual Cart Marking Ceremony took place in Guildhall Yard commencing at 10.05am on Wednesday 12th July 2017. A record 56 vehicles were marked between the Master Carmen, Marsha Rae Ratcliff OBE, The Rt.Hon The Lord Mayor of London Alderman Dr Andrew Parmley and the Master Glover Jonathan Crossman MBE. A selection of pictures from the day's event are shown below. The weather this year was a lot cooler than the previous few years and the rain just about held off for the entire parade. After lunch in the Great Hall we had 656 people sitting down to a wonderful lunch which once again was a record number. The Master thanked those who had been instrumental in making the event a success including the Chairman of the Cart Marking Panel, Past Master Graham Westcott, and his Committee.

Other significant attendees included Carman Sir Peter Hendy CBE head of Network Rail. The Royal Logistic Corps were in attendance and officers and soldiers of 19 Tank Transporter Squadron RLC assisted in the running of the event with a number of Police from the City.

All pictures from this event are now available in the Members' Area.
