Cart Marking
Guildhall Yard

This year's Cart Marking Ceremony took place in Guildhall Yard commencing at 10.30am on Wednesday 13th July 2016. 45 vehicles were marked between the Master Carmen, Mark Griffiths, Alderman and Sheriff Charles Bowman, The Lady Mayoress and the Master Glover Michael Orr. A selection of pictures from the day's event are shown below. The weather this year was a lot cooler than the previous few years and the rain just about held off for the entire parade. After lunch in the Great Hall we had nearly 600 people sitting down to a wonderful lunch. The Master thanked those who had been instrumental in making the event a success including the Chairman of the Cart Marking Panel, Assistant Iain Golder and his Committee. This was Iain's first Cart Marking as Chairman and he did an excellent job.

Other significant attendees included London’s Transport Commissioner Mike Brown MVO and his Manger of Surface Transport Leon Daniels as well as Carman Sir Peter Hendy CBE head of Network Rail. The Royal Logistic Corps was in attendance and officers and soldiers of 19 Tank Transporter Squadron RLC assisted in the running of the event with a number of Police from the City.

All pictures from this event are now available in the Members' Area.
