Thinking Ahead

Transport constantly adapts and develops. Modern logistics demand clarity and innovation. Competent Carmen always think ahead.

Since 1992 the Company has stimulated transport debate through lectures, symposia and forum.

Carmen have worked with the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufacture and Commerce.

Two lecture series have tackled Transport in Society, Freedom of Movement and The Inconvenient Society, among many such subjects at the cutting edge of enquiry and concern.

Later, the Company and the Royal College of Art explored Future Cities Mobility – a theme continuing thereafter with the London Transport Museum.

Working with the London Chamber of Commerce, has looked at the Olympic transport legacy and has since considered The Year of the Bus, The Spitit of Ecstacy and in 2017, celebrated 500 years with a look back at transport in depth with The Wheels of London.

Lectures and debate continue the Carmen’s policy to think ahead about one of society’s most pressing demands – urban mobility.
