The deadline for nominations for the 2022 Transport Awards has been extended to 31 January 2022.
If you know someone or a company that deservers recognition for a job well done, then this is your chance to give them that well deserved pat on the back.
The winners will be in good company, previous winners have included F1 Legend Ron Dennis, the Hairy Bikers, Rolls Royce and your Master and his Consort to name a few. The presentations are made in the magnificent Mansion House on the 20 April 2022.
As you know life has still not yet returned to any sort of normal and many transport organisations are really busy coping with major changes in the market, keeping their staff safe, and in some areas like heritage, keeping going despite all the adversity.
It is not surprising therefore that we have had a very low number of entries for the 2021/22 Carman Awards. I take the view that we must never sacrifice the quality and esteem of our awards and it would be unwise to make an award in a category simply because it was the only entry. This is quite the opposite of all the Carmen and the Awards stand for.
We recognise that with great pressure on so many organisations, finding time to submit awards will have been difficult. Yet it seems to me we should really try and recognise all the achievements across the wide range of those industries with whom we are associated. So many have achieved so much over the past two years in rising to the challenges, delivering essential goods, carrying essential passengers and finding new ways to operate for safety and efficiency.
Having discussed this with the Awards Committee Chairman I am therefore now writing to ask for more submissions to recognise the people, the organisations and the teams that have gone ‘above and beyond’ to keep Great Britain moving and open for business. If the organisations themselves are inevitably busy, let those Carmen who have identified worthy efforts step forward and propose nominations.
To allow this to happen I am extending the deadline for submissions (which an be made by post, on-line or by any other medium) until 31st January. Your Awards Committee will meet directly and make recommendations to the Court such that we can still bring the winners to our annual Awards Dinner in April 2022.
You will all have been impressed by one or more efforts over the past year – this is your chance to give them some recognition for a job well done in tough circumstances.
To nominate you must be a Carman.
The nominee can be a company or an individual but they must be related to the Transport and Logistics industry, but not necessarily a Carman.
To nominate you can complete the online form, email the details to the firstname.lastname@example.org or post it to the office.
