By kind permission of Regimental Headquarters Irish Guards, there is an opportunity to attend a private viewing of The Changing of The Guard, arranged by Major Robert Wilmont MBE, Assistant Adjutant, Regimental Headquarters The Irish Guards.
However, this is not the usual opportunity to witness this ceremony but a chance for 16 Carmen to watch the Ceremony from ‘behind the scenes’. This will be on a strictly first come first served basis to allow Carmen living further afield to participate. It will also be for Carmen only.
Following the Ceremony, Lunch will be a short walk across Green Park at the nearby Royal Air Force Club at 128 Piccadilly for a curry lunch in The Battle of Britain Suite. The menu comprises of chicken and beef curries, pilau rice, naan bread, poppadoms and condiments. There will be a bar available on an individually payable basis (cash or card).
The charge for the event is £50 per person which includes everything (except drinks) and a donation to The Irish Guards Charity (Registered No. 1194198). Additional donations to the charity can be made on the day should individuals wish to do so.
Everyone should meet at the Petty France entrance to Wellington Barracks at 9.45am. Please note anyone arriving after 10.00am will not be permitted. The dress is Lounge Suits (or equivalent for ladies).
Visitors must be in possession of photographic identification (drivers licence or passport).
