Every year, Carmen look at the world of transport and honour the best – in industry, the military forces, education and individual enterprise.
All the Company’s awards highlight transport excellence and achievement, with trophies, medals, citations, and some with cash for young people.
The Carmen Transport awards, are presented at the Mansion House by the Lord Mayor of London. The exception is the Royal Logistics Corps Safety Award which is normally presented, together with those to soldiers, sailors, and airmen, often by Past Master Carman HRH the Princess Royal, at a special Joint Services Dinner.
Educational awards are normally presented at the Company’s Common Hall event each July.
A special committee, helped by expert outside advisors, vets every submission. Only the best get through, and awards are only given when the criteria are met in full.
The awards have specific objectives: to honour individual or collective excellence and to encourage development; to recognise the exceptional and to reward outstanding endeavour; and to highlight exemplary conduct and set examples.
Carmen awards recognise, promote and reward, innovation, achievement and discovery; safety and sustainability; research, design and knowledge enhancement; military leadership, service and learning, and – from time-to-time – extraordinary service to the Company.
Carmen honour the exceptional across the industry, military logistics and transport education, rewarding the best to encourage the even better.
