THIS EVENT IS NOW FULLY BOOKED. Please contact Helen, the Deputy Clerk, if you wish to be added to the reserve list. With the squadron being heavily involved in current operations in Eastern Europe, 19 Tank Transporter Squadron (The Carmen’s) are inviting Carmen to a training event being held on Salisbury Plain. Assembling at their home in Ward Barracks, Bulford, this visit reinforces the long-running affiliation between the Squadron and the Company and gives us the opportunity to see how they train their drivers, particularly in handling mammoth vehicles in off-road conditions.
The day will allow Carmen the opportunity to experience the range of heavy lift vehicles that the Squadron uses on a daily basis to support the movement of Defence equipment both in the UK and on international operations and exercises. Not only will you view the vehicles, meet the drivers and see training methods, it is hoped that rides will be given on the cross country course.
Lunch will be provided and although it will be taken on Salisbury Plain, the Squadron is laying on a formal three course lunch (chicken main course). The cost is £20 per person to be paid on the day by cash. No card facilities will be available.
Places are limited and will be on a strictly first come first served basis. Please contact Helen Ashworth, the Deputy Clerk by email with the following:-
• Full name
• Date of Birth
• Car reg / make / model / colour
Please note you will need to take some photographic identification (driving licence or passport).
The dress code is Smart-casual. Please take in to account the majority of the day will be outside – fleeces and waterproofs are needed.
