Join fellow Carmen, guests and members of our affiliated service units at our Joint Services Dinner, one of the Carmen’s most popular events.
This is our opportunity to welcome our military guests and honour those who have gone above and beyond, the recipients of our service awards which will be presented by Past Master Carman, HRH The Princess Royal.
Our guest speaker will be Commodore Sam Shattock RFA, the General Governor & Deputy Director and Commodore Royal Fleet Auxiliary Service. Sam joined the Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA) in 1990 as a deck officer cadet; after which he served on ships in the Mediterranean, Gulf, Caribbean, Far East and South Atlantic, supporting the Royal Navy. Since 2013, Sam has served as Captain, managing teams of up to 200 people deliver Logistic, Amphibious and Mine Counter Measures support to the Royal Navy. In this role, he has utilised his passion for training and developing younger crew members in maritime, leadership and management skills. In September 2024 Sam became the Head of Service and Commodore of the RFA, responsible for the safety, management and financial oversight of the Royal Fleet Auxiliary Service in total. He is proud to be a local resident, Governor of City College Plymouth, Younger Brother of Trinity House and Freeman of the Honourable Company of Master Mariners.
Plaisterers’ Hall is the largest Livery Hall of the City of London and was opened in 1972. It reflects the grandeur of a bygone era in an ultra modern setting. Its decor is of the neo-classical style created by Robert Adam in the 18th century and backs onto the remains of the original London Wall, which dates back to the 3rd century when the Romans built it.
Start the evening off with a drinks reception at 6.30pm where you can catch up with old friends and make new ones. Dinner will be in the Great Hall followed by the presentation of our awards.
The Royal Marine Association Brass Quintet will keep us entertained during the evening.
Dress code is black tie or military dress with decorations. Ladies should wear dresses to the knee and have shoulders covered.
The evening has been generous sponsored by Leidos, Hughes Driver Training Limited and The Royal Logistic Corps. As a result, we have been able to keep the cost the same as last year, at £145 (inc VAT).
The deadline date for bookings is Wednesday 12 February 2025. Direct debits will be taken on Monday 10 February 2025.
Pour Memoires will be issued. Please contact the Deputy Clerk if you have not received confirmation or a Pour Memoire by Friday 14 February 2025. Payment is required to reserve your place(s).
