This award was presented each year during the period of affiliation and recognised the greatest contribution to the ship’s operation and welfare. Founded by the Worshipful Company of Carmen in 2020, this award comprises a silver-gilt engraved medal to be retained, and a framed citation.
The Company’s affiliation with HMS Northumberland ended with the retirement of the Type 23 frigate from naval service in March 2025. Consequently, we are now affiliated to a Type 31 frigate to be named HMS Venturer. This is still in build in Rosyth and an associated prize has yet to be agreed.
