Your Trust’s support of education, our industries and the relief of hardship can only happen with the support of Carmen themselves. By far the best way is to offer this support is through a regular standing order. These ensure that we can meet our regular commitments but we also welcome one-off donations, of course.

This is where you come in…

Please consider carefully whether you could make a regular payment if you don’t already do so. Or – if you already contribute – whether you could increase your payments. Some Carmen are able to make substantial donations, while others can only give just a few pounds a year. All are very welcome and help the Trust achieve its objects on behalf of the Livery.

To set up a standing order, download our standing order form and complete it (including the Gift Aid declaration if you are able), then send the form to the Clerk, The Worshipful Company of Carmen, 186C Fleet Street, London, EC4A 2HR (or email: clerk@thecarmen.co.uk). He will forward it to the Trust, who will make the arrangements. Click here to download and print the standing order form.

Remember the Benevolent Trust in your will. We can suggest suitable wording.

Regular standing orders provide the necessary funds for work to continue at its present level. Donations from UK taxpayers are normally eligible for Gift Aid, which increases their value to the Trust by 25% and also qualify for tax relief for Higher Rate taxpayers themselves. The value of individual standing orders varies, but £150 a year (or £37.50 a quarter) from the vast majority of Carmen would allow us to cease the present practice of having to withdraw capital from our reserves to meet commitments.
