Common Hall is often associated with an election and is where The Company Officers can answer questions from members and will take place from 1.15pm. So, if there is a question you always wanted to ask, or an aspect of the Company or your membership you are unsure about or would like further information, this is your chance! Please just email that question and who it is for to the Clerk. You can of course still ask questions on the day.
This year, the Carmen Court decided there will be two vacancies for election to the Carmen Court. Three candidates stepped up and applied for the vacancies. All were interviewed by the Court Panel who recommended that all met the criteria for Court membership. The candidates competing for your vote are:
They are:
Liveryman Robert Constant – (constantr@msn.com)
Liveryman Karl Hodgkinson – (hodgkinsonkarl@gmail.com)
Liveryman Richard Turfitt OBE – (clerk@thecarmen.co.uk)
Click on their names or their one-page synopsis of their background and interests. All welcome contact from Carmen members to explain their thoughts and aspirations regarding the Company should they be elected. They will also deliver their Election Address at the end of Common Hall where you will also be able to ask them questions. Voting closes at 2pm with the results of the vote announced in Carmen’s Hall by the Master shortly after. The result will be published later that afternoon.
Members are requested to vote for their preferred candidate to the Court. Voting can be done in person at Carmen’s Hall on 9 July 2025 from 8.00am to 2.00pm, by post or email to the Clerk using the attached form.
At around 3.00pm, there will be a Sparkling Tea until the voting closes at 5.00pm.
If your travel arrangements require you to arrive prior to 1.15pm, there are a number of local cafes and pubs to have a refreshing drink and rest before arriving at the Hall at 1.15pm.
For Catering purposes, please complete the form below or the attached form and return it to the Clerk. The deadline date is Wednesday 1 July 2026. The dress code is Lounge Suit.
