Common Hall is a term used to describe a gathering of Liverymen and often associated with an election. This year, it will be held in St Dunstan in the West Church (next to Carmen’s Hall) from 3.00pm. The Company Officers will be available to answer any questions members may have. If you wish to ask a question, could you please let the Deputy Clerk know in advance by emailing your question and who it is for to deputyclerk@thecarmen.co.uk.
Court Election – The Carmen Court have decided that there will be three vacancies for election to the Carmen Court this year. Five candidates applied for the vacancies and have been interviewed by the Court Panel who have recommended that they all meet the criteria for Court membership. The candidates are Graham Funnell, Carl Hughes, Sharon Kindleysides, Joann Robertson and Richard Smith (click on their names for their election statements). You can hear their election address at the end of Common Hall.
At around 4.00pm, we will move to Carmen’s Hall for a Sparkling Tea until the voting closes at 5.00pm. The result of the vote will be announced in Carmen’s Hall by the Master and published at 5.30pm.
Members are requested to vote for their three preferred candidates to the Court. Voting can be done in person at Carmen’s Hall on 9 July 2025 from 8.00am to 5.00pm, by post or email to deputyclerk@thecarmen.co.uk using the attached form.
If your travel arrangements require you to arrive prior to 3.00pm, there are a number of local cafes and pubs to have a refreshing drink and rest before arriving at the Church at 3.00pm.
